The Postdoc Center HZDR-TUD offers programs tailored to the specific needs of early career researchers with the Career Tracks Academia, Business, and Science Management.

First Postdoc survey
of the TUD and the HZDR

 
Postdocs at TU Dresden and Helmholtz-Zentrum Dresden-Rossendorf (HZDR) now have for the first time the opportunity  to express their specific wants and needs in our jointly conducted  survey of the Postdoc Center HZDR-TUD.

Based on the results of this survey, the aim is to optimize existing offers and develop new concepts and programs.

Personalized invitations were sent out in March. Participation in the survey is still possible until April 25.

Applied research, praxis-oriented teaching, and university management are among the many compelling tasks a professor has at a University of Applied Sciences (HAW). In addition, numerous HAW professorships are to be filled in the coming years. This career path thus offers exciting prospects for Ph.D. graduates.

Once the decision to pursue an academic career has been made, the postdoc phase is
is the decisive phase in which the foundation is laid for a successful career in research.

In our Postdoc Talks, we shed light on career-relevant aspects of the postdoc phase and showcase relevant services offered by TU Dresden. Furthermore, experts share their know-how and (insider) tips while answering your questions.

Our Postdoc Talks take place every second Tuesday of the month, from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. — online via Zoom.

Our Retreat is directed at doctoral candidates and postdocs who would like to take time out from their hectic (university) routine and benefit from the support of experienced writing coaches so that  they can concentrate entirely on writing their scientific texts.

Dr. Juliane Simmchen
 
Dr. Juliane Simmchen, independent junior research group leader at the Chair of Physical Chemistry and TUD Young Investigator, was awarded the prestigious Carl Duisberg Gedächtnispreis.

The Volkswagen Foundation already awarded Dr. Simmchen a Freigeist Fellowship in 2016, and in 2021 she received the Fulbright-Cottrell Award.

Heinz Maier-Leibnitz-Preis 2022

Dr. Tobias Meng, head of the DFG-funded Emmy Noether group "Quantum Design" and TUD Young Investigator, was awarded the Heinz Maier-Leibnitz Prize.

The prize is annually given to outstanding postdocs to recognize their scientific achievements and incentivize further academic research.
