"One of the lessons I have learned in the different stages of my career is that science is not done alone. It is through talking with others and sharing that progress is made." ~ Carol W. Greider

At the age of 23, before she’d even earned her PhD, Greider had made the discovery that would earn her the Nobel Prize in 2009. She discovered an enzyme, telomerase, which induces the re-building of telomeres and thus slows down the aging process.
Together we can achieve more

The last year has been challenging and has shed light on how important meetings, events, and face-to-face conversations are. Good ideas often come from discussions and working together.

And wherever you are in your life, someone has presumably helped you at some stage by asking the right question at the right time, by  giving you good advice, sharing vital information, or opening a door.

For this reason, success needs reliable partners: We are excited to collaborate with the Helmholtz-Zentrum Dresden-Rossendorf (HZDR) as part of our joint Postdoc Center.

In this respect: cheers and thanks to all mentors, supervisors, cooperation partners, and role models!

We wish you an inspiring and interesting read of our first edition!

GA Doctoral Council &
Postdoc Council

You have elected the 7th GA Doctoral Council. The representatives of the established body represent the interests of the Ph.D. students of the Graduate Academy (GA).

With the founding of the joint Postdoc Center of TU Dresden and Helmholtz-Centrum Dresden-Rossendorf (HZDR) under the umbrella of the GA, postdocs are becoming an even stronger priority of our services.

For the first time this year, a Postdoc Council was elected as well. This council will represent postdocs and their interests and give them more visibility throughout the university.

We wish both committees every success
and look forward to working together!
