Good Scientific Practice | Talks & Tips

Scientific misconduct is increasingly attracting public attention, not least because of prominent examples. And even if scientific misconduct may not always be intentional, science, with its claim to autonomy, has a distinct responsibility and obligation to exercise due diligence.

Consequently, it is vital to deal with the standards of good scientific practice (GSP) early and on a fundamental level.

The Technische Universität Dresden has issued the
Statutes for Ensuring Good Scientific Practice, for Avoiding Scientific Misconduct, and for Dealing with Violations.

All TU Dresden members and affiliates are obliged to follow these statutes, make them the basis of their scientific work, and actively contribute to the prevention of scientific misconduct.

The Graduate Academy provides you with various services to support you in this respect!

Dilemma Game App
Can distinct data be excluded from the research paper? Is it acceptable to use the exact same data for different papers? When is co-authorship justified?

Questions on good scientific practice are diverse and may not always be answered easily. However, with the Dilemma Game app, developed by Erasmus University Rotterdam, you can test your “moral compass” in a playful way. And it's fun, too — give it a try!
