Just in time for the start of the New Year, I am pleased to announce that our
new TUD Research Information System (FIS) is now available for all researchers - from doctoral candidates, research associates and assistants to professors. As you know, in the FIS regulations passed by the Senate, we have committed ourselves to using this new visibility tool for our university and for each of you, and to filling it with the appropriate information.
On behalf of the Extended University Executive Board and the colleagues behind the FIS from department
5.5 Research Information, I would like to cordially invite you to explore the new system, complete your personal profile in the FIS, and to customize it according to your wishes.
You can easily access
the new FIS using your ZIH login via the following web link:
https://fis.tu-dresden.de/intern. Your profile will already contain some basic information, as well as data imported from the former research information system - please check that everything is correct and
complete your data by the end of the 2021/22 winter semester.
You can access the associated
research portal (initially only available on the internal TUD website)
using the TUD VPN via:
https://fis.tu-dresden.de/portal. The research portal is connected to the FIS and is scheduled for global release as a publicly visible research interface starting with the 2022 summer semester. You yourself determine with which aspects of your scientific activities you want to become visible and thus gain international profile. Please note that it will be only after the launch of the new research portal that the research information publicly available therein will be available to be embedded in
your personal web pages via FIS embedding boxes in the WebCMS.
The
digital manual containing all information regarding the FIS is available
using the TUD VPN at
https://fis.tu-dresden.de/manual.
In addition to being a showcase for your research achievements, the FIS will also be used for reporting purposes, such as for research evaluations or reports to ministries. In order to be effective,
complete and high-quality data is indispensable. For your entry into the FIS, please also note the
Circular Letter of the Vice-Rector Research RS 1/2022, which contains detailed information on the new FIS as well as on FIS support.
On behalf of the Extended University Executive Board, I am confident that together, we will succeed in rapidly establishing an attractive research information system for TU Dresden that will significantly increase the reach and visibility of our university by showcasing your research achievements!
Log in to the new FIS, try it out and see what features it offers - we're eager to hear your feedback!
