ISPAD 2014 - 40th Anniversary Conference- Recognition Dinner The ISPAD Recognition Dinner will take place on Friday, September 5, 2014 (19:30 until midnight) in the Dominion Ballroom at the Sheraton Centre Toronto. During this evening ISPAD prizes will be awarded to the nominees during the dinner. The best poster and best oral presentation awards will be allocated. It will be an unforgettable evening to honor the outstanding medical achievements of the last year and we look forward to welcoming you all! Tickets can be purchased online. ISPAD @ 5th ASPAE Meeting Dar es Salaam, Tanzania, May 14-16, 2014 The African Society for Paediatric & Adolescent Endocrinology (ASPAE) held its 5th Meeting on May 14-16, 2014. ASPAE is a young and growing organization founded in 2009, supported by ISPAD, ESPE and other international organizations. Almost 60 participants attended this year’s meeting, which focused on how to overcome challenges in childhood diabetes and other endocrine disorders in an African setting. ISPAD and ESPE delegates shared knowledge and experience with local pediatric endocrinologists, making for some lively discussions. In Sub-Saharan Africa, diabetes remains a major challenge and many children die before diagnosis, due to lack of adequate public awareness and lack of resources.
