Early Registration Deadline

It is less than 100 days from the start of the 82nd World Library and Information Congress! This is the final reminder that the early registration rate will end after 17 May 2016. Remember that if your professional library association is an IFLA member you can register at the IFLA member rate for the Congress. Contact your national association for the correct membership number. You will need to enter the membership number on the registration form.

Use the iPLANNER application to plan and prioritize your time, and create & update your own personal calendar. You may choose different export formats: Adobe PDF, MS Word, or the iCalender export for MS Outlook or other calendar tools.
The entire IFLA WLIC 2016 Conference Programme may also be downloaded as a single PDF. Just click on the Adobe Acrobat icon in the upper right hand side.

Have you checked your Passport and Visa Requirements for Entry into the United States?
|
|
On 1 April 2016, the United States (US) as part of the “secure borders, open doors” policy changed the requirements for entry into the US for all visitors. When visiting the US for IFLA WLIC 2016 you will be required to have either a biometric Passport and/or a biometric visa as detailed below.
What This Means - Traveling to the United States
For U.S. Visas the chosen biometric identifier method is a digital photo and electronic fingerprints. All fingers of a visa applicant are electronically scanned in a quick, inkless process during the consular officer's interview with the applicant.
Travel without a Visa - Visa Waiver Program
Each traveller holding a valid passport from any of the Visa Waiver Program (VWP) countries, regardless of age or passport used, must present an individual machine-readable passport (MRP) in order to enter the United States without a visa. Depending on the date the traveller’s passport was issued, other passport requirements apply. If a prospective traveller does not meet requirements to travel without a visa, he/she will need to apply for a U.S. visa, and cannot travel on VWP. Additionally, all VWP travellers are required to have an approved Electronic System for Travel Authorization (ESTA) before traveling to the United States.

Columbus Awaits: The North Market
|
|
Just a short walk away from the Greater Columbus Convention Center is the North Market. According to their website they are: fabulous foodies, persnickety purveyors and artful artisans peddling the fresh, the tasty, the exotic, the beautiful and the special.
The North Market was established in 1876 and hosts more than a million visitors a year.
